EXPLOSIVE LIMITS IN AIR: Lower -35g/M3 Upper -1400g/M3
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Water, sand, or fine earth to exclude oxygen.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Do not use if ammonia concentration in air is in range of 15% to 28%.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPISITION PRODUCTS: Sulphur dioxide, other suplhur oxides, hydrogen sulphide.
SECTION5 – HEALTH HAZARD
EYES: Sulphur dioxide gas generated by lighted detector can cause severe irritation.
SKIN: Upon continued or repeated contact, may cause irritation of the skin. Avoid flame coming in contact with body tissue.
INHALATION: Sulphur dioxide gas generated by lighted detector can cause severe irritation to nose, throat and lungs. Avoid inhaling fumes. Use of Taper is local and temporary.
INGESTION: Sulphur has a low order of toxicity.
EYES: Rinse eyes with water for 10-15 minutes. Consult a physician should irritation persist.
SKIN: Wash with soap and water. Consult a physician should symptoms or irritation persist.
INHALATION: Move to fresh air., Consult a physician should symptoms or irritation persist.
INGESTION: If large amounts are swallowed, immediately call a physician.
SECTION 6 – REACTIVITY
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will not occur.
COMPATIBILITY: Potentially explosive mixtures are formed when in contact with oxidizing materials. Separate from chlorates, nitrates, charcoal, metals, carbides, halogens and other oxidizers.
INHAZARDOUS DECOMPISITION: Upon oxication, will form oxides of sulphur, including suphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide. Formation of hydrogen sulphide may occur.
SECTION 7 – SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURE
CLEAN UP PROCEDURES: Use normal clean-up procedures.
WASTE DISPOSAL: Not a RCRA listed hazardous waste. Waste should be handled in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Avoid inhaling fumes generated by lighted detector. Use of detector is local and temporary.
VENTILATION: Use good general ventilation.
HAND PROTECTION: Do not allow flame to contact body tissue or any combustible. material –thick leather gloves recommended.
EYE PROTECTION: Use safety glasses.
